AI Act

    Also known as: KI-Verordnung, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689

    European Union (EU) regulation on artificial intelligence with risk-based obligations for providers and deployers; law enforcement and evidence analysis fall under specific high-risk and transparency rules.

    For companies using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in security analysis the AI Act requires, depending on classification, documentation, human oversight and transparency towards those affected. Article 50 obliges labelling of AI-generated content. The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (incl. EC3) (Europol) report lists the AI Act alongside the GDPR, ISO/IEC standards and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA) (NIST) AI RMF as the binding frame for AI in forensics.
