ACSC

Australian Cyber Security Centre (Australian Signals Directorate)

    Australisches Cybersicherheitszentrum (Australian Signals Directorate)

The ACSC is Australia's national cyber security centre and part of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) in Canberra. It publishes alerts on actively exploited vulnerabilities, advisories on threats and guidance such as the Essential Eight. Many notes are produced jointly with Five Eyes partner agencies.

History & facts. Since 2014 the ACSC has brought together the Australian government's cyber defence and has been part of Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) since 2018. Its content is licensed under CC BY 4.0 and may be reused with attribution. Joint notes with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (USA) (CISA), NCSC-UK, National Cyber Security Centre (New Zealand) (NCSC NZ) or the Canadian CCCS often appear on several agency websites at the same time.

Outlook & recommendation. The Essential Eight are a compact, practical set of measures that also serves as guidance for mid-sized organisations outside Australia. ACSC alerts on actively exploited vulnerabilities are an early signal to bring updates forward.
