NCSC-NL

National Cyber Security Centre (Netherlands)

Nationales Cybersicherheitszentrum der Niederlande

The NCSC-NL is the national cybersecurity centre of the Netherlands. It supports governmental bodies and operators of critical infrastructure with situational awareness, warnings and incident coordination and is part of the European network of national cybersecurity bodies. It is regarded as active and well-connected internationally.

History & facts. Like its counterparts in other countries, the NCSC-NL combines situational monitoring, a warning service and coordination during larger incidents. It primarily addresses central government and operators of vital processes but also publishes more broadly usable notes and guidelines. In the European context it is integrated into the cross-border cooperation of national bodies.

Outlook & recommendation. Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) strengthens the role and networking of such national centres and harmonises their tasks Europe-wide. For internationally active organisations it is worth monitoring the publications of several national bodies — threat campaigns do not stop at borders, and an early signal from a neighbouring country can improve one's own protection.
