TLP-Stufe Grün — Weitergabe in der Community

Traffic Light Protocol (TLP):GREEN marks information that may be shared freely within one's own community or sector but should not be distributed via public channels. It is the level for insights that a broader circle of peers should benefit from, without them becoming openly accessible to the general public — and thus to potential attackers.

History & facts. GREEN targets exchange within a trusted community — such as a sector alliance, a CERT network or a security community. The information may be passed to partners and peers but is deliberately not to be distributed via publicly visible media such as the open internet or social networks. The boundary is thus not the organisation but the community.

Outlook & recommendation. GREEN only works if the „community“ is actually delimited; in open forums or public repositories, GREEN material is out of place. In practice the rule of thumb helps: to trusted professional peers yes, to the public no. This keeps useful knowledge within the circle of those who use it for protection, rather than handing attackers a template.
