Vehicle forensics

    Also known as: Fahrzeugforensik, EVFF

Analysis of data from infotainment, telematics and control units of vehicles and drones; partly standardised in Europe through the European Vehicle Forensics Framework.

Modern vehicles store positions, paired phones, messages and event data – in manufacturer-specific formats, increasingly encrypted or held only in the manufacturer's backend. The EVFF, developed under the JRC and European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (incl. EC3) (Europol), provides modules for analysis and reporting, not for acquisition. For companies with fleets or drones the topic arises in accidents, theft and misuse.
