Distributed Network Protocol 3

DNP3 is a telecontrol protocol that connects control centres with outstations, above all in power and water supply. Like many industrial protocols it was created without security functions; the Secure Authentication extension is only partly deployed. It is widespread above all in North America and Australia, while IEC 60870-5-104 dominates in Europe.
