Beschreibung

Im Linux-Kernel wurde folgende Schwachstelle behoben: fbdev: modedb: Behebung eines möglichen UAF in fb_find_mode() Wenn mode_option NULL ist, wird es aus mode_option_buf zugewiesen: if (!mode_option) { fb_get_options(NULL, &mode_option_buf); mode_option = mode_option_buf; } Später wird name aus mode_option zugewiesen: const char *name = mode_option; Allerdings wird mode_option_buf vorzeitig freigegeben, während name noch verwendet wird: kfree(mode_option_buf); während name immer noch von if ((name_matches(db[i], name, namelen) || zugänglich ist. Da name eine Alias für mode_option_buf darstellt, kann dies zu einem use-after-free führen. Dies wird behoben, indem die Lebensdauer von mode_option_buf bis zum Ende der Funktion verlängert wird, indem Ressourcenmanagement basierend auf dem Gültigkeitsbereich für die Bereinigung verwendet wird.

Fix this by extending the lifetime of mode_option_buf until the end of the function by using scope-based resource management for cleanup.
